Good Old Halloween

Well good old Halloween is here. I believe the plans are to head to Jess’s grandmothers to hand out candy and make it an early night because I need to be at work at 630 tomorrow. At least I’ll be leaving work at like 3:00pm tomorrow which might be enough time to take my dad to the airport but I doubt it.

Nothing else is really going on. Just working and more working. Jess and I bought a Stove last night. It was a gift from my parents for the wedding. Man let me tell you, the stove is awesome, but damn does Sears nickel and dime the fuck out of you. You want them to haul away you stuff, $10 per item, You want them to deliver $75, on a weekend you better add an additional $10, you want them to install minimum of $180. By the way, what they were installing was a Range hood for a stove, its like two freaking screws man. You want a warranty, try $200. I mean you buy a $500 dollar item, and before you know it, your up to $1000 in all the bullshit fees…. Figures.

Well I guess thats my rant for this evening. Nothing else to report except for Dad heading back to England tomorrow. Mom is scheduled to head out Nov 8th. Man time has just crept up on us huh? They are going ot be gone for a couple of Months before they return in May for Nicks Wedding. I’m not sure when Jess and I are going ot make a trip out there, tickets for august of next year right now are costing around $900 per person so I’m not sure when I’ll have $1800 to spend on a flight with school coming up that year but I’ll do my best to save for it ya know

Wedding

SO I’m suppose to post a big blog about the wedding and honeymoon and stuff. Well since I’m at work and playing a week worths of catch up I don’t really have time so I’m gonna give you a couple of bullet points.

7. Got evacuated from hotel at 2:30 in the morning
8. Some asshole used a fire extinguisher on a smoke detector
9. Left for Airport around 3:30 am
10. Long flight and bus ride Finally Arrive at the Resort
11. YAY for Free Food, Drink, and Service
12. More Sex
13. Lots more Sex
14. Pool Time
15. Even more sex
16. um… Sex
17. Time to go home
18. Long flight again back home
19. HI SHADOW!!!! WE MISSED YOU

Ever Play Monopoly

So I’m sure that everyone here has heard of the Mcdonalds Monopoly game, that not only encourages us to eat lots and lots and lots of their food tagged with monopoly game pieces, but also gives us hope of winning. Well after much time of collecting the offices lunch run pieces and putting them on the gameboard, I found that I got down to 1 piece per section that I never ever got. So being a computer minded person, I turned to google and was lucky enough to un-cover this: http://www.amazing-bargains.com/mcdonalds2007.html

What does this mean for all of us who play the game, unless your a really really really lucky person (ie, you play the lottery every week and win) your chances of getting any of those pieces are so low you cannot even graph them. Lets take a look at the numbers.

According to Macdonald’s, they serve 47 million customers a day. Assuming that each one of those customers bought 1 item that had a game piece (each item has 2 game pieces) and that the game runs for 40 days (Oct 2 – Nov 13th) Mcdonalds roughly prints up 1,880,000,000 just to serve 1 client 2 of the game pieces for 1 day during this time period. I’m not going to go into people who buy more of them, or people who don’t buy an item cause it will take forever.

Now just looking at the jackpot, your chances of winning are 1 in 626,666,666 (3 / 1880000000). You would have a better chance of winning the lottery 10 times in a row (normal chances 1 in 12,000,000) then grab the right item that has the boardwalk sign. I mean I didn’t even factor in the chances you have of picking the proper item that the stamp is on, or the distribution of the items across the country. So in a nut shell, you would have to eat/drink 626,666,666 items at Mcdonalds before you win. Wow, thanks for getting our hopes up Mcdonalds your freaking great!

Realizing this as I’m sure big wig executives do at Mcdonalds they invited the online game play. This means that you can take the pieces that you get off your items, and key in the code online and watch your nice little guy go across the makeshift Mcdonalds board in hopes of landing all three properties, or free parking to win. Well the computer is programmed to never let your dice roll the number you need in order to win, unless certain circumstances are meant. Again I can’t think of the chances of that happening, but so far I havn’t heard of very many winners….. Except for the 3 that keep popping up on my screen from last year…. Ohhhh, ahhhhh, ehhhh.

In short, Macdonald’s is ripping us all the fuck off man.

Nothing Interesting to Post

Nothing really interesting to post right now. Just at work without music because my bluetooth died and I have to let it charge, and it won’t charge while playing music or connected to my computer for some dumbass reason.

Wedding is coming up soon… Ohhhh Ahhhh, Ehhhh. We still gotta get lots of stuff done. We have to pick up some more shorts for me, get our marriage license, change my banking stuff, get out some money, pack everything, clean more of the house (go Jess I love you, and hope you clean clean clean…) Tomorrow is wednesday which means its wednesday. YAY

Soo Close yet soo Far Away

Wedding is coming up this Saturday now. Pretty darn close and interesting to look back on the past 3 years with Jess and see how many times we looked upon this date and thought man it would never come. How many things changed from the original plan, and the first time her and I sat down in front of a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet to work out finances and decide when it a good date to get married would be. I have to say that nothing goes according to plan because man that original plan couldn’t have changed more. We bought a house, I changed jobs, we got shadow, my brother moved in, and moved out, furniture was delivered and destroyed, I entered school, and graduated not having to take any student loans . But I guess that is life right. I’m guessing the next couple of days are going to go so fast, yet so slow at the same time. So much to do at the house to get it ready for people to see, and then Jess has to finish out the last couple of wedding things. I still gotta get a bathing suit for Jamaca, and get something for the groomsmen for the wedding. BTW if anyone has any good ideas, please let me know.

Not really sure what else to say right now. So I guess thats all for now folks.

New Pictures

Alright, so I have uploaded some new pictures of shadow from Sep11 and Oct6 to the slide show and of course to the photo album called shadow. Take a look and enjoy. If you happen to see Fluff all around him while in the Oct6 pictures, that used to be a quilt until he decided to play with its insides…. May the quilt rest in peace. His 6month birthday was yesterday. YAY Shadow is 6months… Man is he a handful too. Last night we went to moms and he would just not calm down and stop trying to eat the pillows.

I also uploaded a new picture of a specific family member to my photo album. It was taken on Sept 5th 2004 at Olive Garden in Manassas, and Yes that is an olive garden take home soup bowl on her head. In case you can’t find it. Here it is:

This Weekend

So this weekend was eventful. You know how I specified that we were going to go LOOKING for a new Car and really stressed the LOOKING part. Well we looked so much that now we get to look at the car for the next couple of years cause we bought it. 2005 Chev Equinox. Ohhh Ahh, pictures will follow. We hit a good deal where the dealership accidentally priced the car 2g less then they should have when they got it mixed up in their inventory with one with much higher mileage. I confirmed this by pulling up the Blue Book Value on the car while at the dealership. Why the move this weekend? Well cause once we told them of the price we found online, they realized their mistake and as soon as we walked off the lot, they were going to correct the problem.

Other then that, I had a night out with the guys on Saturday. They succeeded in making me drink till I puked. Other then the puking part, I had a good time.

Sunday was full of relaxing and moving some stuff for mom in the evening. Didn’t really do much Sunday after I woke up except head out to lunch, and then home, and then over to Moms to move stuff.

Shadow is of course being shadow. He hurt his legging getting out of the new car, but I think he is over it now and doing pretty alright. I was able to get some new pictures of him this weekend. They are on my MicroSD card so I need my USB adapter that is somewhere in the house in order to upload them. Whenever I find it, I’ll upload.

Dad comes back this weekend. Mel and I are going to pick him up at the airport this Friday and then this Saturday is when we are going to get him measured for his tux.

Wedding is coming up next weekend. I added a counter to my Facebook for all of those who have a facebook. I would add one to myspace, but they suck and don’t let you do that stuff.  (EDIT) I did some google searching, and I found a counter so I added it…  but myspace still sucks (EDIT)

Mel is moving into her new place today.  So YAY! party at mels place sometime this week.  She got hooked up with a new 40″ Plasma screen for the new place as well as new furniture and everything.  We gotta party party party.

Nick moved into his new place last week I believe.  I havn’t had the chance to visit cause its in MD and by the time I get off work its late and shit, but maybe sometime in Nov I’ll make a trip up there or after the honeymoon.

Saw IV

So very cool SAW IV is coming out. I have never been one to really like horror movies, but I don’t think it is the horror of the movie that attracts me, but more of the twist and turns of a very good plot. Not to mention how they always draw on the previous films and show you stuff that you didn’t see before. Very cool. Can’t say I’ll catch it in the theater’s but I might hit it up for download or rent….. Maybe just a wiki on the plot will be enough.

Nothing else is really going on this week. Partying with the guys on saturday should be fun but man is that saturday packed. Lets review the schedule for the next couple of days.

This evening, hanging with Jess as unmarried couples who have no money normally do on a Friday night . Sat morning it is up with Shadow at 6:45, (maybe a bit later if he wakes up later…). I would take him for a walk at 7ish except he chewed through the leash we got him on the drive home from moms on Saturday so until I hit up the pet store shadow is gonna have to wait on his walks.

Then it is over to the DVR to watch the shows I havn’t caught up on yet. Then over to feed shadow and maybe jump to the pet store to pick up a new leash depending on what time it is. Followed by heading over to Vienna to have the final meeting with Jim from Perfect Honeymoons…. BTW JIM rocks so if you need any holiday trip planning he is the man to see. After the meeting with Jim, I promised jess that we would go car looking. Emphasis on the “LOOKING” part. Then back home to play with shadow, maybe head to moms and let him run before the night starts. 8pm it is head to the bars with the guys and get hammered, then stumble home and sleep it off until sunday afternoon.

Sunday afternoon is pretty much open, except I wanted to get yard stuff done like wedding and mowing, and putting up trellace to keep the dog from under the deck. So we’ll see if that actually happens or not.

Wedding is coming up on two weeks away. Turns out that my Abuella will not be joining us in person, only in spirit. I’m sure she’ll raise a glass for us sometime during the day. .

Dad comes back the 13th. (Next Saturday). I’m sure Mom has tons of stuff for him to do at the house like cleaning out the garage and building a fence and all sorts of stuff. Doesn’t look like he’ll be going home until Nov 1 and I think mom plans to go with him but I don’t know….

Looks like the buying the new house stuff fell through. Funny thing is because of the way the market has changed, I’m now seen as more of a risk I guess. Even though I’m making like 45% more then I was last november, my bank guy couldn’t even get me qualified for the loan I currently have….. um does that mean I have to give the one I do have back?? Um guess not. Doesn’t really make sense to me, but I guess you win some you lose some. We’ll have to find another way to get shadow a big back yard.

Have to say after much web browsing today I found out that Bank Of America has a pretty cool Portfolio portion of their online banking setup. I was able to add all of my accounts, setup budgeting, and even do projections. Things I typically needed Money or an another accounting application for, I can all do online with BoA. Pretty cool. BTW for all of you who said they lost their FDIC membership. As far as I can read up on, I could not locate anything of the sort, and the internet is a big place, so for it not to be anywhere on the internet, I find that the information is false.

But I gotta jet, there is a pop up here on my screen and a Donkey wants my credit card number, since it is on the internet, it must true, and I must give in.
